2024 KCR BREASTFEEDING SURVEY REPORT

Breastfeeding Systems Change Project ‒ Breastfeeding Survey

 

Brief Summary: This survey reinforced the findings from the Breastfeeding Journey Mapping that within the interior region of BC there is often a lack of services to support mothers to breastfeed. This small survey provided a helpful snapshot that should not be ignored. The lack of breastfeeding education prenatally and in hospitals indicates a benefit in supporting physicians and maternity care providers. In response, our Physician Breastfeeding Guide will be released in Spring 2025. It would be beneficial to do future surveys to continue evaluating breastfeeding support and resources in our region, to inform resource planning and new initiatives.
