A 64-page guide to breastfeeding for family physicians, obstetrician-gynecologists and paediatricians, midwives, nurse practitioners and other maternity care providers, with a focus on the Interior Health region of British Columbia, with information relevant to all maternity care providers across Canada and the world. It has been developed over the past 5 years with intensive collaboration of about 50 health care providers. The goal of this Guide is to enhance involvement of physicians in breastfeeding care, and to increase their role as advocates. It is user-friendly with charts, photographs and graphics. The Guide addresses prenatal, 0-72 hours after birth, and postnatal concerns.
