Are you pregnant or a new mom wanting to contact a lactation consultant, nurse, peer-to-peer community breastfeeding support or a breastfeeding clinic? If so, go to pages 57-58 QUICK LIST: CONSULTATION AND REFERRALS in the Physician Breastfeeding Guide for consult information. There are free options such as seeing a physician, a midwife who is a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), or a public health nurse; calling the IH Healthy from the Start phone line (see poster below) or contacting a local La Leche League. Private lactation consultants are also available who will generally charge an hourly rate.
